A NEW CHAPTER
Old Broken Radio is a project that returns with a renewed sonic identity, following the release of its debut album “PINK RABBIT” — the first chapter of its journey.
Born from the long-time friendship and collaboration between Mattia Del Conte and Luca Stignani, the project evolves into a more defined and powerful form, where shared experiences shape a deeper musical vision.
Their sound blends rock and electronic elements, where synths, drums, electric guitars, and vocals intertwine in a dynamic balance between energy and introspection.
Old Broken Radio is where emotion meets sonic exploration — a space where the raw intensity of rock merges with modern electronic textures, driven by authenticity and connection.
THE SOUL
Mattia Del Conte is a musician and songwriter with a long-standing career. After his early experiences with various bands (Alabaster, The Hijackers, The Remedy) and signing his first record deal with RAI as singer and guitarist of ANTIGUA, he appeared on national TV shows, sharing the stage with artists such as Ron, Renga, Mango, Nathalie, and Eugenio Finardi.
He has collaborated with The Flay, Body Heat, and other national projects as a songwriter, session musician, and arranger.
With the TolKins project, he released the EP “Ain’t Givin’ Up” (created with Sandy Chambers and Richard Aardenburg, produced by Livio Magnini of Bluvertigo) and worked with international artists such as Daniel Kostic (Sweden) and Stendhal (Russia).
Among his most recent experiences, the collaboration with Banana Studios and the release of the single “Karma Beach” mark the beginning of a new artistic path, now evolving into the TolKins duo, where rock, electronic elements, and a shared artistic vision define a new musical identity.
THE HEART
Luca Stignani is a drummer, percussionist, and electronic performer active in the Italian music scene across live performances, studio work, and production. He trained at SIB in Cusano Milanino and continued his studies with Giuseppe Cacciola, principal percussionist at Teatro alla Scala, building a strong technical foundation and a deep focus on sound research.
Co-founder of Banana Studios in Milan, he works as a musician, producer, and sound engineer across diverse musical contexts. Throughout his career, he has recorded as a drummer for dozens of artists and worked as a producer and audio engineer on numerous records, spanning alternative rock, electronic music, singer-songwriter pop, and experimental genres. He is active both in the studio and on stage, with a strong emphasis on sound quality and expressive dynamics.
Driven by a passion for sonic exploration, he develops an analog, fully computerless electronic approach. His influences range from stoner rock to jazz fusion and experimental electronics, shaping a sound that draws from the British tradition at the intersection of rock and electronic music.
